Applying for Aid
If you need financial help for college, the is a great place to start. FAFSA can give you access to Pell grants, Stafford loans and work-study funds to help you reach graduation. Students must report 51勛圖厙s Federal School Code when they file in order for 51勛圖厙 to consider them for financial aid.

Financial Aid Overview

To receive financial aid, you must be fully admitted to UNC Pembroke. FAFSA typically opens on October 1 for the following academic year.
To get the most aid, submit your application by the priority deadline of March 1. Late applications may receive less aid.
A new FAFSA should be filed each year the student wants to be considered for financial aid. File as early as possible for the best chance for the most aid.
Tips for Filing FAFSA

Why You Should Apply
All students should complete the FAFSA even if you have a plan to pay for college or think you wont qualify. You may be surprised! Plus, you need a completed FAFSA to apply for federal student loans or 51勛圖厙 scholarships.
As a general rule, you should file the FAFSA as early as possible for the best access to the maximum aid available. There is limited financial aid funding in some areas like state grants, so students who apply by the priority date receive priority access to those limited funds. 51勛圖厙's Priority Filing deadline is March 1.
