Guiding Peers, Building Skills
Your Role in the Tutoring Program
If you are using 51勛圖厙s tutoring services and have a weekly tutoring appointment, youre expected to attend regularly.
You could be removed from the tutoring schedule for the remainder of the semester if:
- You have two unexcused absences
- There is a pattern of cancellations
- There is an unwillingness to engage in the learning process
If removed, you must meet with the tutoring program coordinator to request re-entry into the schedule.
Excused Absences:
- Notify your tutor and the tutoring program coordinator at least 24 hours in advance if you need to miss an appointment.
- If less than 24 hours' notice, provide a valid reason for the cancellation.
By participating in the Tutoring Program, you agree to the following:
- Tutoring sessions are not a substitute for class. You must attend class regularly.
- Be prepared for each session by completing assignments (readings, homework, etc.) in advance and bringing your materials (textbooks, notes, questions).
- Tutors will not do your work for you. They can explain concepts, help with assignments and assist with test preparation, but they do not re-teach course material.
- If you no longer need tutoring, please inform the Center for Student Success so others can use the time.
