Every perspective helps shape our path forward. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members are encouraged to engage through upcoming forums, town halls and idea submissions. Together, we’ll create a plan that captures the energy and ambition of our university community.
Strategic Plan: Shaping Our Future, Together
Grounded in Purpose.
UNC Pembroke is developing our next strategic plan — a shared vision that will guide how we grow, serve and go beyond over the coming years. Rooted in collaboration and purpose, this process brings together voices from across campus and our surrounding communities to imagine what’s next for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Our goal is to build a plan that reflects who we are today. A campus that is resilient,
innovative and deeply connected to the people and places we serve, while charting
a bold course for the future.
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and the community are invited to take part in this
important work by sharing ideas, participating in campus conversations and helping
shape the priorities that will define our next chapter.
Key phases:
-
Discovery: Gathering input, identifying strengths and exploring opportunities.
-
Development: Drafting goals and strategies aligned with our mission and brand pillars.
-
Refinement: Sharing drafts for feedback and incorporating campus input.
-
Launch: Presenting the final plan and aligning initiatives for implementation.

Guided by Vision.

Our Why
Every strategic plan begins with a shared purpose — the reason we exist and the difference we strive to make. For UNC Pembroke, that purpose is rooted in access, opportunity and impact. This plan builds on our proud history while looking ahead to what’s possible when we go beyond together.
Student success is our foundation and our future. We’re building on that strength, elevating excellence, expanding access and deepening community connections to help every Brave go beyond.

Our Process
Our planning process brings together voices from across the university including faculty, staff, students, alumni and community partners through listening sessions, surveys and working groups. Each stage will be shaped by feedback and grounded in data, ensuring the final plan reflects both our mission and our momentum.
This fall centers on strategic analysis and planning. With Board approval anticipated in early November, campus units will begin shaping goals and actions. The plan is scheduled for approval in the spring, with implementation to follow.
