Amy Cox is the primary sexual assault advocate for © Copyright 2025 51³Ô¹ÏÍø (51³Ô¹ÏÍø). In this role, Amy provides confidential support services to students who have experienced or been accused of sexual misconduct, dating or domestic violence, stalking, and/or harassment.  She assists both survivors and the accused in accessing campus and community resources. Amy is also available to attend university adjudication proceedings as needed and offers a comprehensive information packet for survivors, the accused, and campus stakeholders. These services are free and client-centered, thus enabling students to decide for themselves the best course of action for their particular circumstances.

In her role with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Amy provides interpersonal violence prevention education to students and counsels students with a variety of mental health concerns. Prior to joining the CAPS office at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, Amy worked as a K-12 Public School Counselor, Private Practice Owner, Adjunct Instructor of Counseling, and Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. 

Amy earned her Master’s degree in Professional School Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced School Counseling for Postsecondary Success from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø in 2019.  She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. Amy is currently pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University, with prior research focused on LGBTQIA populations and Counseling Ethics.
