Dr. Smith is the chair of Chemistry and Physics and the Co-PI of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø COMPASS2 NSF S-STEM Scholarship program. She earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Wake Forest University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry (specializing in synthetic organic chemistry) from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
