Bachelor of Arts in History

Our BA in History offers a flexible, enriching curriculum that immerses you in the stories of major global civilizations. Through hands-on research and analysis of primary sources, you'll sharpen your writing and critical thinking skills — essential assets for success in law, education, public service and beyond.

The General History track offers a comprehensive foundation in historical study. Explore diverse time periods and geographic regions, from ancient empires to the modern world. This path is ideal for those who want to:

  • Pursue graduate studies in history or related fields
  • Prepare for law school or public policy roles
  • Gain skills in research, writing and critical thinking
  • Tailor their education to personal interests with elective option

Prepare to become a well-rounded middle school social studies educator through 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s comprehensive Bachelor of Arts in History with Middle Grades Social Studies Education licensure (grades 6–9). 

Earn your licensure to teach grades 9–12 through 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s Bachelor of Arts in History with a Secondary Social Studies Education concentration.

History Minor

A minor in history pairs well with any major. You’ll learn to think critically, analyze complex trends and communicate with clarity. These are skills that employers value in every field — from business and education to healthcare and the arts.
